The Lore

ACT I

For as long as the universe had existed, beings of unimaginable power have invoked their will upon its very fabric, fundamentally changing it to bring it closer to their idealized vision. Through the many, came the birth of the stars and cosmos. Their will manifested a nigh infinite array of elements that’d churn into galaxies.

Such beings would be known as Celestials and this power they were known to wield? Astarae. This power bent space, and wrote time into being-- Merging the two in the infinite scape amongst all in an event referred to as the beginning.

The beginning birthed Reality and kickstarted history for the universe within it. However, before reality came Oblivion. It, was the absence of all creation-- What lied before, and where all were destined to go. The abyss that consumed Celestials should they falter within Reality, forced to idle within the abyss for the millenia to come.

Despite the danger of entrapment, Celestials would often come to conflict over discoveries and creations, forcing their fellow brethren to fall to the jaws of Oblivion, time and time again.

The lack of structure amongst them lead few to believe in their inevitable undoing, bringing rise to a given few to forge an alliance: The Order of Pax. This union of Celestials believed that by enforcing strict commandments amongst all others will ensure that the many would not lead to destroying themselves through their own selfish intent.

This act pacified few issues, but birthed a far more insidious conflict behind the scenes. Other Celestials, fearful that their freedoms were being stripped away by this new union started their own collaboration in direct opposition: Ardenti Libertas.

The two factions had fought to enforce their own idealized future for the universe, and how it was to be interacted with, in what would be called The Great Deicide War.

Many had fallen, forced to the siphon of Oblivion for the hundreds of years to follow. Those whom remained neutral scattered across the cosmos, intent on avoiding either faction conscripting or even banishing their being from Reality. Others even took to disguising themselves amongst mortal creations throughout the countless galaxies -- Splitting themselves from Amunae itself.

The stream of Amunae exists within Oblivion, yet is pried by Celestials to grant them their immense potential. To live, is to pull from the vacuum… But to falter, is to succumb to its resistance. Though, to be split from Amunae, is to become a timeless mortal.

ACT II

A Celestial by the name of Vraxus had discovered a world populated by a race he’d dub as ‘Humans’. Intrigued by their intellect and capacity to conquer their surroundings and environment, he sought to toy with them-- Inserting himself into their very existence. Divine intervention into their very anatomy wrought his own creations into being to coincide with their likes.

Biological tampering was his expertise, exemplified in his Astarae, spawning various races which would terrorize all of humanity under his constant experimental watch. This constant torment would eventually come to an end, with the arrival of another Celestial: Celtric.

Celtric, was one of the few remaining of the former Order of Pax, finding interest in humanity upon his arrival. Recognized as a threat by Vraxus, his efforts to observe humanity are obstructed and conflict is ignited amongst the two.

Celtric liberates a sect of humanity from Vraxus’ influence and empowers a select three to become his Champions. Vraxus, noting the culmination of antagonistic forces brewing, followed suit with his own array of champions amongst his mutant monstrosities. These beings would be known as the Vraxian Duodenary -- The Twelve Titans of Vraxus.

War ensues between the split of humanity, between those devout to Vraxus and those finding liberation under Celtric, while the Celestials themselves remain distant in fear of losing their grasp in the plane of Reality. However, one sole Champion of Celtric would charge brazenly into the fray to attempt singlehandedly slaying the Celestial Vraxus, only to fall and become the Final Titan of Vraxus.

Their power grew unrivaled, changing their body and soon after, their mind. This new Titan had pushed the boundaries of mortals, threatening both Vraxus and Celtric alike. Thus, the two opposing Celestials put aside their differences to take down the new Titan, only to find themselves clinging to Reality by a thread. Relying on their pry on Oblivion, they manifest physical forms that lie within the mortal realm-- Instruments that embody their Astarae in rawest form.

The fallen Titan utilized what ample power it had left to disseminate its form into thousands of subvariants of itself. What managed to make it into the wilderness had taken to emulation of wildlife, and swiftly inserted itself into the fauna of the continent, and soon after to spread across the planet.

ACT III

The dissemination of the fallen Titan was referred to as the Croxus. These were creatures amongst fauna with a unique blend of Pnuemae, spawned of the Astarae of both Celtric and Vraxus. These creatures integrated themselves into the lives of all, with a given few even capable of inheriting sentience and shedding their ferality. However, those whom had followed selected Champions and Titans underwent biological mutation and rituals to grow tuned to their own unique blends of Pnuemae.

These individuals amassing such control over their affinities became Champions amongst their ilk, forever changing the way the world would function in the absence of the once-lively Celestials. Rising civilizations struggle amongst one another to cling to prominence, all of which vying to find and attain the very divine manifestations prophesied to determine their new world order-- Ignorant of the very powers that still exist across the vast expanse of Reality and beyond.

As Vraxus and Celtric remain weakened, continually clinging to their materialistic forms in hopes of a capable vessel taking up their form-- Other beings wander, observe… and maybe even idle amongst this particular brand of mortals. Only time, would spell their fate.
